The iRacing 2024 Season 4 Release Build is here! This release includes new content, upgrades, and fixes for 2024 Season 4, which officially starts on September 10th at 0000 UTC! iRacing adds four new cars: BMW M4 G82 GT4, McLaren 720S GT3 EVO [pending final approval from McLaren], Mini Stock, and Dirt Mini Stock. Both the Mini Stock and Dirt Mini Stock are free to all iRacing Members! The iRacing map improves with one new pin at Cadwell Park Circuit and two updated tracks: a full 2024 rescan update at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, and an extensive art update at Circuit Zolder. Current owners of Spa and Zolder receive these new 2024 versions automatically.
The iRacing Weather System has evolved a new Timeline Weather type: Spotty Rain, which simulates heavy to light scattered rain showers. iRacing also now includes a new ability to launch an AI Session directly from an Official Series Session [pending final testing] – this copies all parameters from the Official scheduled Session and puts you straight into a private AI Session, ready to race for the win. We’ve improved our Standing Start procedures, and vehicles now run a simulated parade lap, which pre–conditions the tires before the standing start, providing a more realistic experience. The iRacing clutch model has been updated with a small natural bite variance. Not all clutches operate identically time after time, and this change will ensure each Session provides all drivers with a minuscule natural variation to keep the playing field even. All iRacing environment sounds have been updated into a new audio format that reduces their file size while maintaining fidelity. For Lone Qualifying Sessions, you are now able to watch all other drivers in the Replay – see what you can learn from the community. Finally, a new Multi-Class Official Series Splits Algorithm has been developed that will provide improved manufacturer diversity while maintaining optimal competitive grouping. This new Distributed Splits Algorithm will be rolled out selectively, and there will be an indicator for Series and Events using it.
Our vehicular hydrologists have made EIGHT cars rain-ready, including all TCR Class Cars, BMW M4 G82 GT4, McLaren 720S GT3 EVO, Mustang FR500S, and Renault Clio R.S. V. AI Racing modules have been developed and installed for all new non-Dirt content. And finally, nearly 1000 new and updated vehicle setups have been established for optimal pairing between car and track. Get ready for the podium by practicing your best iRacing Guy pose, and get excited for iRacing 2024 Season 4!
